    Ledyard

Ledyard is a lovely town on the banks of the Thames River, north of Groton, and south of Preston. It was settled in 1653, but only incorporated in 1836 when it split from Groton. The current population is approximately 15,600, with most of the residents commuting to jobs in nearby towns.

Ledyard covers an area of 40.5 square miles, and includes Gales Ferry Village, a National Register of Historic Places site. It hosts the northern half of the US Submarine Base, and is also home to Dow Chemical.

    Ericson Park

The world famous Foxwoods Resort Casino is located in the northeastern part of town, on the border with N. Stonington. The casino has put Ledyard, CT on the map.

They also offer the new Lake Of Isles Golf Course. "the spectacular Rees Jones designed North Course at Lake of Isles.  Set deep in the Connecticut countryside and surrounded by a 90-acre lake, Lake of Isles is the ultimate golf experience.  Rolling fairways, island tees and greens make for breathtaking views on every hole.  Five sets of tees are designed to make it an enjoyable test for every skill level.
